VISITS & TOURS

Kelmarna Community Farm is a space for everyone, open seven days a week through the pedestrian gate at the Hukanui Crescent entrance.

There are a few ways that you can visit with us on the farm:

Casual Visiting

Feel free to pop in and wander the grounds and enjoy the peaceful country environment near the heart of the city. You’ll find chickens, vegetable gardens, a food forest, beehives, worm farms, compost making, native trees, harakeke flax, and a whole lot more!

Kelmarna is an inclusive space where organic food is grown, so please be mindful of the vegetables and walk with care. Please also refrain from picking or harvesting anything from the farm.

A great deal of work goes into cultivating the space that we share and all of the plants and produce in it. Visit our Farm Shop to take home delicious, local organic produce and proudly support us in the process.

Group Visits & Tours

We work hard so that our urban farm might serve as an example of a regenerative food system and what is possible when communities work together for healthy, sustainable outcomes.

We welcome your group to explore the farm, and we offer guided tours that include a brief history of our unique space and a closer look at our operations across the farm.

We’re keen to share ways we work to benefit our community, in collaboration with the environment, and how we can connect with or inspire your group kaupapa.

Everyone on site is expected to use discretion when taking photos, videos, or capturing any other media, so as to avoid including any person who has not given explicit permission to be depicted.

This means that you must ask for consent and respect a person’s right to decline any request. We uphold this basic principle of right to privacy, and it is especially important considering the range of people and programs we support at Kelmarna, including volunteers, children’s groups, and vulnerable people. Thank you for your cooperation!

Additionally, any media captured other than for personal use (such as for commercial, publishing, marketing, or any other promotional or public use) must be part of a Photo/Film Location booking arrangement. Cheers!
