WORK WITH US

We are now recruiting for a Compost Coordinator & Farm Worker position:

Our current Soil Factory Compost Coordinator – Ollie, is moving on to pursue his career in architecture. As we prepare for him to finish up the role in November, we are now recruiting for someone to fill these boots! We’ve also expanded the role a little, incorporating more participation in the gardening and food growing areas of our mahi, via co-facilitating our Saturday volunteer day.

So if you’re looking for work in the sustainable/regenerative food sector and have some relevant experience to contribute we’d love to hear from you. This is a great opportunity to contribute to delivering our vision for a more sustainable food system by demonstrating regenerative farming right in the middle of Auckland.

The overall purpose of this role is to lead on all site composting, including the Soil Factory Composting project. This includes completing weekly collections (by e-bike + trailer), processing of food scraps, turning it into high quality compost, new customer acquisition, and administration. Additionally, the role also includes co-facilitating our regular Saturday volunteer sessions in the garden. We’re looking for someone with experience of making hot compost, whether at home scale or greater, and an interest in building healthy compost and soil. 2+ seasons experience of organic / regenerative food growing on a home garden scale or greater would be helpful also, though more training in these areas can be provided.

Hours: 22 hours/week (days of work: Monday/Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday).

To apply: Please send your CV, and a cover letter outlining how you meet the Person Specification.
